Finally making a briefcase for myself. Its nice to actually be able to show people what you make, which I haven’t ever been able to do since most orders get finished and go straight to customers.
Shown are essentially all of the leather components for one case, ready to stitch together. Smaller strap pieces usually get cut later, and I always make the handle at the very end of the build.
The other pictures are of the center divider of the case, with pen slots, business card holder, and pocket for other small stuff.
This is the first build where I have actually been tracking how long it takes to produce one of my pieces. To give you an idea, getting to this point in the build process for a TSCC briefcase has taken about 11.5 hours, from placing templates on a new side of leather, to painting the edges of each component. I’m guessing this is a little less than half done in terms of time. I’m getting faster but the attention to detail I strive for demands lots of time.
